The third installment of BBDO’s annual in-house digital marketing innovation fair, Digital Lab Demo Day, took place this week and bridged the gap between some of the most promising early-stage startups in the ad and consumer space and BBDO’s brand teams. Demo Day was originally conceived as a one-day forum to expose BBDO’s multidisciplinary teams to some of the most innovative technologies, apps, tools and emerging platforms in the marketplace. The program stayed true to its mission this year as compelling ventures representing a variety of increasingly important themes in digital marketing, such as mobile, social, video, display and gaming, displayed their wares to BBDO’s staffers and delivered live demos of their innovations throughout the course of the day.
While some of the ventures featured enterprise tools designed to better arm marketers for the challenges of the digital landscape, such as Thismoment, a content management service for the social web, and TripleLift, an enterprise marketing platform specifically for Pinterest, others represented emerging consumer-focused media plays such as Viggle, a TV viewing loyalty program and Showyou, an emerging social video platform.
However, there was one thing all of the 15 exhibiting companies had in common: they all offered a potentially special and innovative bradn proposition that BBDO teams could learn from to continue its mission to create the best work possible for its brand clients.
